Four Simple Ingredients:
*Grass fed Beef Tallow
* Raw, Unfiltered Organic Honey
* Jojoba Oil
* Vitamin E
No fillers. No fragrance. No preservatives. Everything in this cream has a purpose, and that purpose is to take care of your skin. Here’s why I chose these specific ingredients:
Tallow: Tallow, especially from grass-fed cows, is rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K, which are essential for healthy skin. It’s deeply moisturizing and helps restore the skin’s natural barrier. The fatty acids in tallow are similar to those found in human skin, making it incredibly compatible for deep nourishment.
Honey: Raw honey is a natural humectant, which means it draws moisture to the skin and locks it in. It’s also packed with antioxidants, enzymes, and antibacterial properties that help keep your skin clear and healthy. Honey helps repair damaged skin and promotes a natural glow.
Jojoba Oil: Jojoba oil is a humectant ingredient. This means that it works to attract water to the top layer of the skin, helping to keep the skin hydrated. This may help prevent bacterial infections, acne, and dandruff from forming.
Jojoba oil contains antimicrobial and antifungal properties. While lab tests found that jojoba oil doesn’t kill all bacterial or fungal species, it does kill certain bacteria and fungi that can cause salmonella, an E. coli infection, and candida.
Jojoba oil contains natural forms of vitamin E. This vitamin works with your skin as an antioxidant. This means that jojoba oil can help your skin fight oxidative stress caused by everyday exposure to pollutants and other toxins.
Although jojoba oil is a botanical substance, its makeup is so similar to the oil (sebum) your body naturally produces that your skin can’t tell the difference. This makes it less likely to build up on your skin and clog your pores, leading to fewer breakouts and less severe acne.
Lastly, on a molecular level, jojoba oil is a wax. Although it can be absorbed into your skin, its waxy nature allows it to create a soothing seal on the surface. Unlike other botanical essential oils, jojoba oil is typically nonirritating. Allergic reaction is rare
Vitamin E: Vitamin E isn’t just one ingredient. It’s a group of ingredients. The most common are:
alpha-topcoherol
alpha-tocotrienols
beta-tocopherol
beta-tocotrienols
gamma-tocopherol
gamma-tocotrienols
Let’s start with the obvious: vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant. It constantly patrols your body, looking for free radicals. When it finds one, it quickly destroys it.
Problem is, the vitamin E your body naturally makes depletes with age and sun exposure. Yep, the more time you spend in the sun without sun protection, the sooner your body goes through its supply of vitamin E.
That’s why you want to add some back through your skincare – you’ll replenish the stock and kill even more free radicals. Vitamin E can also offer SOME protection from the sun, but it is not a replacement for sun protection!
Vitamin E has one more trick up its sleeve. It helps your skincare products last longer. Vitamin E isn’t your usual antioxidant. It doesn’t kill bacteria and germs that find their way into your precious lotions and potions. Instead, it prevents the light from oxidising (i.e. making ineffective) the active ingredients in your products. Without its help, they wouldn’t last you as long. Since I add Vitamin E oil into this face cream, I don’t have to add any toxic preservatives, which your skin will thank you for!
